Reset does not work

Post by dwilbourn »

Hi Enigma,

I have created a project and wanted to test the registration. However the Debug | Reset menu items have no effect, the program continues to run as registered. I have tried resetting all the items individually and both local trial and local registration say there is no information found.

I tried resetting the trial for a different project and that does work, but only for the other project, not the one I am working on at the moment.

Hi David,

Really there could be few problems. Firstly take a look where your registration information is being stored. You can check in on the Registration Features - Registration Data Storing panel.

If you are using:
1. File System + relative folder points somewhere in user's documents, for eg "%My Documents%". Then check, if Enigma Protector and protected program are running under same user account. I.e. protection tries to reset same registration file as protected program uses.
2. Registry + base path is HKEY_CURRENT_USER. It has the same issue as previous one.
3. File System + %DefaultFolder%, make sure the output file name (on the Input panel) is the same as your registered protected program. For example, if you have protected program somewhere on the disk D:, how the protection will find the %DefaultFolder% to reset registration?
4. File System + %ProgramFiles% folder, make sure that %Program Files% folder is not write protected.

Thanks Enigma,
Modified name for privacy

I changed "Use both techniques" to "Use system registry" and it works now.

Ok David, but anyway, this means that Enigma was unable to delete the file with license information.

From my side, I will try to check if there is really no problems in Enigma with this function!
