Virus detection by Windows Defender in boxed exe

Post by ucanbizon »

Hi,

As I have told in my previous topic, I have downloaded EVB two days ago and playing with it.

Today I have faced a very strange issue as follows.

When I scan the xxxxx_boxed file with windows defender, I get a virus warning. See attached screenshot.

Of course I have performed a scan to the input exe (original exe) immediately and it is clean.

After that, I have performed a full scan (about 6 hours) on my entire notebook disk and it is clean. This is a new purchased (just 3 days ago) notebook and has no installed apps yet except Windows 10.

Any idea about that?

There is no viruses. This is issue of windows defender. You need to submit your files for analysis there.

We also recommend to use code signing of packed executables to get rid of false detections.

But the method of submitting of exe to Windows Defender's developers (as Ilya advised) is also very helpful, please try it first. Don't forget to specify there that this is a false possitive detection.
