About false alarm

Post by tony200910041 »

I just realize that there are false alarms from anti-virus software.
I uploaded some of my boxed app to VirusTotal, and both eSafe and McAfee-GW-Edition.
Probably this is due to false alarm, but I still wonder if anyone is encountering the same issue.
I hope that Enigma company can cope with the problem as soon as possible.
Example:
XnConvert: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/9189 ... /analysis/
MP3 Quality Modifier: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/abc1 ... /analysis/
Moo0 Simple Timer: https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/950f ... /analysis/
Please help. Thanks.

I think it's a luck that you have only 2 false detections from 47 antiviruses. There is really nothing to worry to my mind.

Unfortunately, nothing we can do to fix it, this is a paranoia of antiviruses, this is their errors and we can't affect them.

But there are few ways how you may affect this:
1. Do not check files on virustotal. This service sends all files to antiviruses, which may add them by default to the suspicious list. So of today you upload the file which is clean, tomorrow you may have few false detections and so on.
2. You may digitally sign protected file with the certificate like VeriSign/Comodo/Thawte, this usually helps to eliminate false detections.
3. Finally, you may submit files to antiviruses and ask to solve the false detection, there are more instructions: http://www.softwareprotection.info/2011 ... -to-solve/
