Probems with anti-virus software

Hello,

During evaluation of your product (Enigma Protector) I have encountered a very serious issue. After protecting the test application test32.exe with the default protection settings I have analyzed the produced executable with various anti-virus software. 7 of 43 anti-viruses reported the executable as malware, see http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/rep ... 1301042830
Do you have any ideas how to avoid such problems with anti-virus monitors?

P.S.: I understand that those anti-virus reports are false-positive but do not think it would be possible to convince all our existing and especially potential users that we do not distribute Trojans.

Best regards

Hi gaivans,

Yes, this is know problem. This is common problem for all software protections.

But, it can be 100% solved. To avoid false detection you will have to send examples of protected files to antivirus companies and ask to eliminate false detection. Detailed instructions are written there:

Since each protected file has a unique signature of your license, AV solve problem (usually they solve problem within 1-2 days) and it never appear.

Also, some users sign protected files with the digital certificates like VerySign and Comodo, this also helps to solve a part of false detection.

PS: IEEE company together with the famous AV companies develops special SDK for software protection vendors that will help to avoid false detections, they started to work a year ago but still did not complete. Hope they complete this soon and we forget about false detections.
