Settings

The Enigma Protector offers two Virtual Machine types: Classic and Modern RISC. You can read more about it here. Settings screen Virtual Machine type selection applies only to the File Entry Point and Functions Selecting, this does not affect any VM type specific markers. RISC Properties affect all of the code that is being covered by Modern RISC Virtual Machine.

Modern RISC Virtual Machine can be tweaked using the following properties:

• Trashgen, affects the level of junk instructions which will be inserted into the PCODE;
• Obfuscation, controls the level of virtual instruction handlers complexity, affects the size of Virtual Machine a lot;
• Duplicates, indicates the max amount of handler duplicates that can be generated for one virtual instruction, affects size;
• Encryption, affects the level of encryption for internal data
