Virus alarm
Hello,
i have the problem that i get a virus alarm for the protected files with bitdefender.
Is there a way that you may talk to them to remove the enigma packer signature from their database?
Thanks

Re: Virus alarm
Hi TechnoMan,
You may submit the protected file at the BitDefender forum, they usually solve the problem quickly. Take a look there for more information: http://www.softwareprotection.info/2011 ... -to-solve/
Also, to avoid false detections we recommend to sign the protected file with the digital signature provided by VeriSign or Comodo.
Btw, soon the new version of Enigma Protector will be released (version 4.0), this version will contain a special digital signing system, that will help to avoid false detections.

Re: Virus alarm
I have the same problem. Some antivirus detect my software as virus after use Enigma Protecion.
I have some questions:
1. I'm a Enigma Protection 3.x user. Can Enigma Protection 4.x help me? If yes, how?
2. To solve the problem I need contact antivirus software house everytime I will release a new update or only one time?
3. Sign the exe can help me? Why?
regards

Re: Virus alarm
Hi,
1. Currently we are still working with the leading antivirus vendors on the system called Taggant, which is aimed on doing the same as digital certificates (as described in #3) but only for protected executables, it should go live in the nearest future. For now Enigma 4.x has no support for Taggant.
2. This depends on how they will 'tag' your executables in their bases, detection may popup again for an updated version of your software.
3. When you are siging an executable with your own digital certificate it means that you are verified person and your software is trusted, because in order to get one you must provide some personal information to the company you are bying certificate from (VeriSign, Comodo, Thawte etc).

Re: Virus alarm
Do you have a date for Taggant system?
Re: Virus alarm
I think we will start to embed the taggant by user request basis soon. We will let our customers know when such ability will be opened.
Re: Virus alarm
So is this taggant system available yet? Thanks.Enigma wrote:I think we will start to embed the taggant by user request basis soon. We will let our customers know when such ability will be opened.
Re: Virus alarm
I get false positives all the time for our software (using SoftwarePassport) and it's been getting worse over the years as anti-virus companies go crazy over everything. This Taggant System sounds very useful. I saw a recent article here:

Re: Virus alarm
Taggant system will be implemented in Enigma Protector very soon, within couple months.
