Hello
The application protected with Enigma Protector is scanning longer than 1 min. Even the protector itself is scanning for 30 seconds. During this time nothing shows the progress (only high CPU usage can indicate what is going on).
Is there a way to speed up the scanning (except of Microsoft Security Essentials recoding)?
My system details:
OS: Microsoft Widows Server 2008 Standard SP2 with latest updates
System: AMD Turion 64 X2 1.6 GHz, 2 Gb memory
Latest Microsoft Security Essentials:
Security Essentials Version: 2.0.657.0
Antimalware Client Version: 3.0.8107.0
Engine Version: 1.1.6802.0
Antivirus definition: 1.103.408.0
Antispyware definition: 1.103.408.0
Network Inspection System Engine Version: 2.0.5854.0
Network Inspection System Definition Version: 9.146.0.0
All protection is enabled.
Thank you
Very long scanning time by Microsoft Security Essentials

All protection enabled in anti-virus of course. In protector project I have already tried to disable all related options. But with no success.Majid wrote:Hi riiDid you enable everything?rii wrote:All protection is enabled.

Re: Very long scanning time by Microsoft Security Essentials
Hi rii,
This has happened before with McAfee, they solved this problem. And agree, this is happening with not all the files.
Problem is surely in antivirus, to analyze protected file they need much time and lot PC resources. Better protection - more time to analyze it.
I can advice few thing that could help to solve this problem and also will try to find contacts to report this problem to MS.
So for now, please do the following:
1. Send the sample to MS, add a support ticket using this page:
https://support.microsoftsecurityessent ... redirect=1
2. If possible, try to sing your protected application with digital certificate like VerySign or Comodo.
FYI, starting 4th quarter of this year or beginning of 2012 there will be made an ultimate solutions against false detection and such huge load analyzes. This solution is being developed by group of antivirus software vendors, so this is not or deal. I will post somewhere on the forum when there will be progress with this.
