virtual registry overwrite pre-existing same key on real registry?!?
PCSXR v1.9.94 win32 zipped version (a PSX emulator) is already natively almost full portable, except for (variable) configuration stored in registry
so files virtualization is not required, need just virtual registry without including other files
but in case pre-existing previous configuration (of same emulator) stored on real registry, the virtual registry how works?!?
ignore pre-existing real regkey without touch?!?
virtual registry can store variations configuration in virtual regkey without touch real registry and/or without touch pre-existing regkey on real registry?!?
virtual registry overwrite pre-existing same key on real registry?!?
Re: virtual registry overwrite pre-existing same key on real registry?!?
Hi, currently virtual box is working same for registry and files, and there are following conditions that affects your situation:
1. If both real and virtual keys exist, virtual one is used for application
2. Any changes to virtual system are being discarded after application restart. So when you restart application system loads virtual content that is embedded to the file.
We are currently working on a feature that stores changes of virtual content on the disk. It should be released in near future.
